Siv Iren Misund
Mezzo soprano Siv Iren Misund finished her masters in performing arts at The Norwegian Academy of Music in the spring of 2007 and is currently working as a freelance singer based in Oslo, Norway.
Siv is a recipient of the Ellen Kirby Smith Rice Scholarship (CoOPERAtive program 2010, Princeton, NJ) and a price winner of the KammerOper Schloss Rheinsberg 2011 where she performed the role of Nutrice (L’incoronatione de Poppea) to great critical acclaim. Other roles include Ulrica (Un ballo in Maschera), Flosshilde (Das Rheingold), Zita, (Giannis
Schicchi), Frugola (Il Tabarro), Zia Principessa (Suor Angelica), and Witch (Hansel und Gretel).
Siv has worked with Bergen National Opera, North Norwegian Opera and Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Opera Festival and Live Opera in Oslo. She has also worked with the Norwegian National Opera's chorus on several productions. All though mainly a classical musician, she has also worked in a variety of genres such as gospel, soul, jazz and cabaret.
She has sung backing vocals for various artists as well as her own concerts in duo with guitarist Endre Engebretsen, with big band, and as a member of Traces Gospel choir.
