Jiah Mariz was born and raised in Oslo, Norway with roots from the Philippines. Growing up in a musically inclined family, she started singing when she was only 4 years old and has developed other musical talents such as playing guitar.
From a young age Jiah has performed on several stages, contests and musicals. She has shared the stage with Trond Viggo Torgersen in 2004, performed infront of The King in 2004, Nelson Mandela in 2004, The Crown Prince and Princess in 2009, "Grease" the musical, where she played the leading role in 2014.
Jiah also participated as a contestant for "Idol" - Norway in 2014, where she was amongst one of the top 55.
With vocal as her main instrument, Jiah graduated at "Manglerud Videregående Skole - Music/dance/theater" in 2014.
Since then, Jiah focused on her bachelor degree and graduated in 2019 with a bachelor degree in "Social work". Jiah has actively been using music as part of her mileutherapeutic work in her profession.
Jiah is inspired by her mother, who taught her how to sing. A wide variety of artists such as Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, YEBBA, Whitney Houston, Demi Lovato and India Arie, to name a few, are also inspirations for her musicality.
